Alessandro Duerto
Pastry Chef
Alessandro Duerto has over six years of experience in New York City’s dynamic culinary scene. He arrived in the U.S. as a Venezuelan refugee and found resilience and creativity through pastry. While working in the service industry, he pursued his education at the city’s prestigious culinary institute, the Institute of Culinary Education, honing his skills in French pastry, wedding cake studios, and modern techniques. Alessandro has worked as a chef in different cuisines, always prioritizing flavor and emotions in every creation; evoking memories and emotions through desserts, and transforming Italian traditional pastry into unforgettable bites. He was previously the Executive Chef at Parisian dessert shop Sweet Rehab in Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood, where he worked for over three years, before joining Sicily Osteria as Pastry Chef.
